1月19日 Nobody Comes Here AnywayI'm sorry y'all...I just needed to vent and I really didn't think anyone actually read this space any more. I am fine now. I want you all to know that I did pray and I found the answers I needed when I wasn't even really looking for them. Please don't think Steve did anything horrible. he didn't, he just didn't behave the way I wanted and it took me a little while to realise and to admit that some of the problem was actualy with me and not with him not caring enough about me.
He and I are good and we are both happpier. I will reply to emails when I can.
Thanks you guys. 10月14日 Goodbye???Is this goodbye??? Am I going to the dark side??? Originally when people were signing up for blogs I found blogger frustrating (possibly due to my own inability to understand how it all worked) and it was only when a friend of mine required a blogger ID that I decided to create one called The Unnecessary blog. However with all the stuff ups of spaces and the fact it takes forever to load I've started using my blog much more often. So is this goodbye to spaces forever??? Only time will really tell.
But for those who are missing out on all that Sarah, head over to unnecessaryblog.blogspot.com to see all the coolness (I know that even saying that is completely uncool but I don't care :P)
Untill I say farewell forever please keep checking both, but really have a good thing going with blogger so i think spaces and I might have to go our seperate ways. Hockey ExcitmentSo the other night it was my hockey presentation. it was just held at a local pub so we had dinner before hand and hired out a function room. I was sitting with the 4th grade players as they are great and really the only ones who came for the whole thing. So we chated for a while and then the formalities started. My mum was coach of fourth grade and she went first. There were various thank yous, including one to me as both official umpire and helper at training...I was bought a gift voucher for a place called Godess for a pamper session which was really lovely. Next was third grade (only 4 people showed up) and then was second grade. Two trophies were given out...one for players player and one for most consistent. My coach started to wrap up and then he started looking in my direction a lot. Now it was like he was only talking to me since he was looking at me so much. I even had people turn and give me funny looks. Now it turns out that out of everyone in Second grade, I was given the most points so i got best and fairest out of everyone. I was stunned and blushing. So I walk up and suddenly Chris says..."Not only was she voted best and fairest, but she also is receiving the highest goal scorer in second grade." Wow...how crazy. But exciting.
It's nice to feel appreciated. I know it's easier to look back on a situation and say that you didn't need to get an award to make it worth while, but I really wasn't expecting any of it. I think too often thank yous are ignored or they are said in such an apathetic way that it loses meaning. Sometimes it's said too much and that is sad.
I challenge you all to really put meanings into your thank yous. Make sure that people know how much you appreciate what they have done for you, even if it's one of those situations where it was just the thought that counted. At least someone thought about you.
Well this was supposed to be posted almost a month ago but spaces was being a poo. 9月19日 Where's the rum gone???So far me Pirate Day has been a tad disappointin. See being a work day I must restrin me self from talkin like a pirate to me fellow workers and our clients. Not just that though, I thought it would be best t' leave me pirate clothin at home as well. Luckily I still get to go and find me self some pirate bounty with the gold I recently....acquired (insert hearty pirate laugh here).
Tonight there also be some pirate partying going down at the wee old pizza shop. Good times to be had by all.
So I encourge ye land lubbers to enjoy yer pirate day in full force...don't let them partay poopers spoil yer fun.
Signed
Mad Left Eye Lisa 9月11日 Ye Scurvy Dogs!!!So next Tuesday (19th) is International Talk Like a Pirate Day!!! Yes you read it correctly...now you might be thinking something along the lines of "Who cares?" And even though you probably don't expect and answer...I Care!!! In fact, during next week I'm going to be blogging like a pirate!!! So I'll appologise for any difficutlies you people have in reading my pirate talk.
Thats really all I wanted to say...I know...it's pathetic...this is a pathetic blog :'(
Well I will try to blog again as a friend of mine jenfafa.blogspot.com has this quiz thing on her blog and I'm going to give it a go.
Duty calls...I have 4.5 days left at my job and I'm busy busy!!!
WOOT!!! 8月22日 WhingeNow I don't usually like whinging, but today I am sick and I really want to whinge about it!!! First of all, last Wednesday I flew to Brisbane as I am the manager of my sisters syncronised ice skating team. So that was pretty good. It was tiring and there were too many 5am mornings but overall it was fun. The girls came third and there really wasn't much in it between the top 3 teams. We also found out that in February next year we will be flying to Europe to compete in two competitions. So I am saving madly.
Now as much fun as I had in Brisbane, I got sick. On the first night up there I was having difficulty breathing and was tempted to go find my asthma puffer. Now I am a very mild asthmatic so that wasn't exactly fun. I slowly started getting worse and by Sunday morning the mum's who were alos up there were offering to do whatever they could for me so I could rest and try to get better.
Now on that day I was tempted to sms my boss and say I wouldn't be in on Monday for work, but I was feeling a bit better by Sunday night so I went to work. Again this morning I was feeling dodgy and was tempted to not come in but I did anyway. I then found out that not only is one of the 4 admin staff away, but that my boss (who is sick but I don't think as sick as me) will be going home early today. Therefore leaving 2 of us here and really no way for me to go home sick. PLus I spent most of the night coughing so I am quite tired as well.
So I am stuck at work today. I have the option to not come in tomorrow and it is a more than tempting offer but I'll have to wait and see. I'm not cranky as such, but it sucks that if two admin staff are out of the office at one time, there is no way for the other two to really leave until the end of the day or briefly for lunch. So I've decided if I'm stuck here, I'm at least going to be comfortable and not push myself. Everything is a leisurely pace and I have some music on.
I can't wait to go to bed tonight. 8月16日 Filler PostI had hoped to do a bit of a filler post where I don't reaally post about anything of any great importance or excitement, it's more of an excuse to say that I've posted. Now, in this filler post I was going to put all these t-shirt designs in as pictures, but when I saved them from the email I received them in, they saved in paint and the silly work computers don't have the technology to upload them or to copy and paste them onto my post.
Well I'm just going to type the sayings in anyway...some of them are quite funny so I thought I'd share them with you all:
I hope I got at least a chuckle...there were some others which might have been considered funnier, but I thought they were a bit rude and I like to keep my space G rated. Well I'm off to Brisbane tonight...yay!!! Four days hanging out with and taking care of 18 teenagers!!! Wooo!!! I don't know if my sarcasim dripped of my words as much as I meant it to...but I hope it'll all be good. Funnily enough the main trouble-makers are the coaches daughters and they always know when to stop. Just to add something random, I bought Pink's latest album yesterday. 8月7日 New Do...So what do people think about the new do??? It's not my doing so I can't really advertise but from the header up the top I believe that msn Spaces was updated similarly as msn messenger was and now it's LIVE. Whatever that is supposed to mean. Everything seems to have a little bit mroe order to it and there seem to be more options available so overall it seems to be a good thing. But I'm hardly here so I wouldn't know.
Speaking of not knowing and being here...has anyone else noticed the blog drought lately??? See I generally have time to blog at work, but I really am not terribly motivated half the time. I certainly am busy and could share these events with you, but the motivation to sit and ramble is simply not there. I have tended to find more interesting things to do than surf the blogs of the net while at work as blogs that aren't updated regularly just tend to stop getting checked all together and when you're sitting at a desk just waiting for a call to come through and all you have to stare at is a computer (which has unlimited internet access - yay for broadband) you tend to find some pretty crazy and interesting stuff.
Well I'm about to go spend most of my day in powerpoint training (wow, such a hard monday) then I get lunch, then I'm on the switch again. WooHoo.
Tootles! 6月26日 BoredOk ok, so it's been too long since I posted...but I can't help it if I've been to busy. More to the point, I just haven't felt like blogging. I had my birthday almost 2 weeks ago and I'm still celebtrating it here and there. The last pressie I'm expecting to get is this Saturday when I go on a dinner cruise with Steve and that is from my parents.
I didn't get heaps of pressies, but the ones I did get made me feel very spoilt. I had a small get together on Saturday night and it worked out quite well. It turns out that the game of cranium is much more fun in a large group.
A huge amoutn hasn't really happened...or rather, stuff has happened, but I'm just not int he mood to chat about it at the moment.
See on the long weekend, I went to an awesome camp up in Katoomba called Winter Camp and I was a study leader and yeah it was great. After that I got sick and I'm still recovering..in there was my birthday and hockey and sickness and partying...and well I just can't seem to make this post any mroe interesting. It's really very sad and I do feel quite boring and sorry for anyone who has actually sat there and read all of this.
Well no point making this any mroe painful than it has been...but at least I shouldn't get any abusive comments telling me to blog...
Catchya later. 5月31日 Ahhh!!!As some of you will know, the back of my car has been the butt of many jokes besides the already obvious ones about the size of my engine. It was pointed out to me yesterday that someone has decided to defacewhat little dignity my little car had left. They did this by removing the daewoo logo!!!!
Now seriously...what is this world coming to when I can't even park my car at Waitara Station and hope that it will not be vandelised??? Do people really have that much time on their hands that they would stop and rip something so innocuous off the back of someones car???? I've had P plates stolen and even had flyers but on my car...but never did I expect that someone would actually (since I've only even seen it happen in the movies and on tv) steal the logo off.
Not to mention, not that long ago Jen had her lisence plate numbers stolen off her car while it was parked in front of her house!!!!!
Does anyone else find this entirely distasteful???
Well luckily I don't find that I will die or suffer any ill effects from this little vandalism, I do however find it immoral and ever so slightly pathetic....So I'll just toddle along...
Happy Days :D 5月30日 UpdateHello all. So this is just an update blog because I feel like blogging. I've actually started writing this 3 times already and I just got bored.
So Saturday was Jen's birthday and it was heaps of fun, not only because I got to hang out with her lots but I also got to see some school friends that I hardly get to see any more. We were supposed to go to pancakes but it just didn't end up happening. I'm thinking that maybe for my birthday I'd like to go there but I'd need to either make it a small bunch of people or get people to pay for themselves. Anyway...thats a few weeks off yet...
Before then I have at least one date with Jess...still need to figure out what we're doing...anyway...I've also got a scavenger hunt type thing with Steve's family which I'm hoping will be as fun as it sounds... plus there is an anniversary and Winter camp. So very busy.
I have a chip craving at the moment which is really bad...I keep wanting chips... it doesn't matter if they're hot chips or a packet of chips...but my tummy is desperately craving them.
Oh oh, guess what else is happening before my birthday??? I'm going to see x-men 3!!!! It looks so good plus it has a heap of really good actors and actresses in it...I'm sure Steve thinks I'm only excited because it has Hugh in it, but he's so wrong...thats only part of the reason :P
Well it's only 16 days til my birthday...WOOOT!!! I've asked mummy and daddy for two tickets on a cruise and I'm taking Steve with me. It should be really nice. Unfortunately I didn't choose the dancing one as Steve doesn't like dancing...hmmm, I think I've finally found my summer sport!!! Now all I have to do is get Steve to join me :D
So thats all really... It sounded more exciting in my head...but at least I'm blogging unlike some other lazy people who although are busy, find time to procrastinate playing games and watching tv :P 5月18日 One Handed...Recently I discovered how hard life would be if I lost one of my arms. Now this is a pretty odd thing to discover and you might be wondering how I did it. Well I was in the shower the other day when I absent-mindedly grabbed the conditioner instead of the shampoo and proceeded to queeze some onto my hand...now this is not the first time in my life that I have accidentally grabbed the wrong one...but it has only happened once or twice before. Those times I simply shook my head at my self and washed my hand before grabbing the correct bottle and getting on with it.
This morning however, I noticed that not only was there not much left in the conditioner bottle, but that there was less than what was left in the shampoo bottle. If I simply washed the conditioner away, there would eb an even bigger difference.
So while trying to even up the levels and save a bit of my beloved conditioner, I strategically managed to grab the shampoo, open the lid and pour it directly onto my head. Which I later discovered put more in my hair than I had expected, but not being able to see made life a little bit difficult. After replacing the bottle I started scrubbing away with my free (right) hand. At first it felt awkward and quite useless...no matter how hard I seemed to scrub, no bubbles would form. It was only when they atared rolling down my face that I realised I had been successful. After carefullly rinsing my hair, I splattered the conditioner from my hand onto my head and proceeded to complete my task using both my hands.
It was an interesting experience to say the least and although I foundt he challenge quite intruiging...I continue to wash my hair using both hands for the entire time as it is much more efficient than just one hand. 5月3日 Savills Strategic Project DeliveryTry saying that 10 times fast!!!! Luckily I do not...however I am required to now answer the phones at work "Good Morning/Afternoon Savills, Sarah speaking."
If you don't know what I'm talking about, let me fill you in. As of the 1st May 2006, CGP Management does not exist. We were bought out and we are now part of Savills Australia. Nothing much has changed just yet apart from how I answer the phones and the fact that all our stationary is changing and eventually we'll be moving house (we're moving into the Sydney Office in the city within the next 9 months or so). So that is my news... apart from some money issues (in that I will be getting paid less often - fornightly not weekly) everything is pretty peachy.
I'm taking tomorrow off work though. As some who read this will know, Steve's granny dies last week and tomorrow is the funeral. I'm sure I'm going to cry, especially at the cremation and at the funeral itself. Certain church songs will never be the same. When my great nan died in 1994, I didn't really get emotional as I didn't know her very well. I hardly remember visiting her and apart from where she used to live (which has been changed dramatically anyway) I don't really remember much about her at all. I don't remember crying at her funeral...I remember where it was and then we went to the cemetary...afterwards I went back to my cousins house... but not much more than that. In fact I think I've almost spent more time with Steve's granny over the last 11 months than I did with my own great nan. It is a bit sad, but I was too young to really know much better.
Life is so precious.
There isn't much more to say... life has been busy as usual...for proper details you can read Steve's blog... I just felt like it was time to say hi to y'all. Hope you're well. 4月24日 Kidz ClubWhat a fantastically exhausting week!!! I can't believe it went so quickly.... I took the four working days last week off and ended up getting 10 days off (which I'm sure I mentioned before). So Friday, apart from going to church in the morning, I don't really remember what else I did...I think there was a nice lunch int here somewhere and from memory, I believe I went to Gosford...yes it's all coming back to me now...I went with Steve and his parents to Gosford to visit Angela's dad and her sister, Louise was there with her husband, Rod. We got home around 6:30 (I think) but it was quite nice up there.
On Saturday Steve and I went to the easter show nice and early and we got all our show bags early too. It meant carrying them around with us, but they weren't too bad. We also did most of the rides before the real crowds came which was really good. We ended up getting to the main arena at 2:30 and we watched wood chopping, a few parades, a polo match (Austrailia beat India), some rodeo-ing and various other arena entertainment. It was great and lots of fun.
Sunday saw me at church again (that was really nice), then visiting Steve's granny, who is very sick and will die soon. There might have been another nice lunch or dinner in here somewhere but that was over a week ago and my brain just can't keep up with all that I do.
On Monday, official kids club setting up type stuff happened. I built a pod racer for the kids to view and Jackie helped with painting and decorating type stuff. Amanda was drawing alien and monster pictures which I then helped to paint before heading off for luinch and a nice relaxing afternoon. The boys were mainly setting up technical stuff as they pretty much knew what they were doing.
Tuesday we did some more setting up and did some run-throughs for the three days to follow. With the talks and songs we had puppets helping out... two of the puppets, Lucy and Leroy, stayed for most of the time but they brought a friend named Boris along and I was asked to do his voice whenever he was needed. It was highly amusing although I did get a bit embarrassed when people found out it was me.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we ran kidz club and we slowly had more kids turn up each day. Over the three days we had 30 different kids and none of them were too hard to control thanks to the helpers and having so many confidant leaders. We played games to start with, then went and did some singing, dancing and listened to a talk before having morning tea and playing more games or doing craft.
On Saturday most of the people who helped at Kidz Club went to PLC Croydon to play in a PY touch football comp. Cherrybrook entered into the social comp and although we didn't come first, we only lost one game. We drew 2 and won 1. The game we won was agianst the team which had beaten (slaughtered) every other team so it was quite a victory even if Andrew did end up getting a nasty hand-print tattooed on him.
That night I went to the Superdome and watched the ANZAC tattoo. It was great... quite funny and entertaining. I got to bed at about midnight before having to take my sister to ice skating on Sunday morning. Because of Kidz Club, the youth group took over the Sunday service and recaped on everything we'd done which included singing, meeting puppets, going over talks and of course the packing up. It was all great fun.
After a lovely dinner last night and a fantastic week I am sad to be back at work, however I do get tomorrow off which makes for a very short week.
I've been challenged a lot this week both personally and spiritually and I'm really glad I took the time off work to do it. I really hope to be able to lead at Winter Camp as I think it will really help me to grow and I love talking to and with young people about God....
Well back to work for me. I hope you all enjoyed your week. 4月12日 SweetMmmm, chocolate!!! Although Easter is not about the chocolate, it is still nice to receive it. Last night after skating, I was giving out some easter eggs to the girls when one of the mums asked Adele and I to get together. So Liz (my sister and captain of the syncro girls) started saying thank you to Adele for all her hard work and they handed her a small hamper with ferero rocher and and easter egg pack. Next thing I know, the other girl standing with Liz (also called Liz) is saying thank you to me for always going to ice skating and for helping Adele and the girls and then I got handed a small Lindt easter egg pack. It was very sweet.
I've bought easter eggs for people this year (I didn't last year due to lack of funds) and I'm quite happy to say that I think they will all be enjoyed. I've bought big ones (which which some people will get Thursday night) and then I have made up some smaller packs which I'll give out at church. Sorry to Tim and Abra...I would have made/did make up you some but you're away and I would have eaten them anyway.
So yay for chocolate but bigger yay for why we have Easter!!! 4月10日 The War ContinuesOk so it was just me and the pizza.... there was no milk or bread...there was cereal, but I don't like it with water...so it was just me and the pizza. Two pieces of BBQ Chicken pizza sitting in their container just asking to be eaten. It was a war between the grumbling of my stomach and my sense of morality...Pizza really isn't a breakfast food after all!!!
So the war was on...I double checked the fridge and the freezers and tried to busy myself and even find an alternative to eating pizza for breakfast...knowing it would give me a stomach ache if I did.
It was that or no breakfast at all......Until... I had an epiphany!!! I could buy my breakfast once I got to North Syndey. All I had to do was wait until then... it was tough but I survived and beat the evil pizza monster who tried to convince me that pizza for breakfast would be ok.
I was so relieved!!!
I ended up having a plain cheeseymite scroll instead and it was tasty!!!
Well that is my story.... YAY easter is soon and that means days off work, which automatically means more time with Steve, easter eggs, easter services, easter show, kids club, touch footy and the Anzac Tattoo (is it spelt like that???)...WOOT!!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4月5日 Something Random...I shouldn't really be typing much at the moment, as yet again hockey has damaged me.... well that is the theory anyway. My left hand started hurting a few days ago but it hurt on top of my wrist and felt more like a bruse than anything else. Over theses last few days however, the pain has spread a bit and when I mentioned it to my mum and showed her where it hurt, she seemed to think it might be tendonitus. Now Bec already has tendonitus and Jen's tendons are all loose and silly...I never thought that after one hockey game I'd ever get tendonitus, but it just seems to be the way things happened. Luckily My other injury (my torn glute) only felt a little uncomfortable and not really sore (HOORAY!!!). So I have my wrist strapped and I'll take pain killers if it hurts too much more, but really it's just annoying.
On another note, as much as I like my new setout, I'm disapopointed that the standard font is grey as it makes everything harder to see. I think I'll change it...hmmm, but what colour??? Well as you can see, I chose black...I was hoping the white would look good but it didn't... neither did the purple or the pink... changing the colour of the font is so much easier than trying to find a new layout. Some of them are nice, sure, but I already did trial and error and this is the one I like. It reminds me of a semi-cloudy night sky. Oh how I love the sky, sunrise and sunset are my favourites, when the clouds are just right and you can still see a star or two and the moon. Then there are those cloudless nights when you're inland Australia and the air is fresher, the sky is brighter and it's not because there is a football stadium, city or supermarket close by.
I think my idea of a perfect night at home would include watching the sunset, a nice dinner and then a stroll in the warm night air to somewhere where you can see the stars without coming to the horizon and being impared by the blaring lights of society.
Well there is work to do and I'm supposed to do it...I just thought I should blog before I got abused 3月22日 Breakfast SagaWell the title is partially true.... I just know how to get my audience interested ;) So this morning I had a craving. I wanted something hot, but not toast. So what else was there. Well I could have made crumpets (which I actually feel like now...mmmm, peanut butter and honey crumpets *drool*) but I didn't feel like crumpets. Then I remembered that there was pizza left over from two nights ago in a sealed container in the fridge. Just two small pieces and they called out to me "Eat me Sarah!" There was also this other voice saying...go have some museli and be healthy, but alas the first voice one and this morning I had pizza for breakfast. It has been at least 2 years since this event has happened and it was great!
Ok so now that part is done.... did you know that white sugar and coffee sugar taste different??? I've been drinking peppermint tea all day (I had a sore throat) and I like sugar in my tea and I discovered that coffee sugar is sweeter. Unfortunately I found this out by suffering a not so sweet tea... btu now you all know that coffee sugar is better!!!
I actually did have something to blog about but after talking about food, my brain has gone all silly. So if at first you don't succeed, stop trying! It will happen when it happens. Did you know that Aldi supply some of the best packet popcorn around??? You can buy individual packs of microwave popcorn for 99c and it is just divine!!! I have no idea how bad they are for you, but they are better for you than chips. Mmmm, chips...I mean pop corn :D
So whose up for putt putt??? Well I am and I'm going this weekend!!! Yay!!! It's only been like two weeks since I've gone.... but you know what I'd really like to do??? Go ice skating!!! So on some random saturday that is coming up (not this one) I want to go ice skating...all those in favour...say 'I'! Oh and I also want to go to laser tag. However I understand all these thingsa cost money and should be spread out...but they must be done!!!
Well thats about all...although I have some crazy news!!! My mum bought the 7th and 8th season's oStargate on Sunday!!! WOOT!!! Now I have all the good ones - I say good ones as the 9th season doesn't have the original cast so who knows what it might be like...plus it's not even out atm...so WOOT!!!! * season's of Stargate!!! WOOT!!!
That is all :D
3月10日 WeekendsI think weekends are the greatest...not just because I don't have to go to work (although that is very nice), but because I get to hang out and have fun with my friends.... like this coming weekend is filled with heaps of crazy stuff and I'm gonna be busy but it'll be great!!!
Tonight I'm going to see Human Nature in concert. Now if you'd asked me just a few months ago if I'd go see them live I'd probably gone one about how bad boy-bands are and the word eww might be thrown in there somewhere. But tonight I'm going to see them perform a collection of Mo-town favourites (which I own their album of) and it's going to be great. Even if I don't enjoy the music, I get to hang out with Bec, Jen and Jen's parents and then Jono and his mum are going to be there so it should be fun anyway...plus Jen, Bec and I are getting a bit crazy and dressing up a bit!!!
Ok so tomorrow, Steve, Jen and I (also possibly my mum) are going to the zoo. They have snow leopards cubs and I haven't been in ages. I love the zoo. So we're going in early and then since it's going to be a million degrees (well really hot) we'll head home just after lunch I guess. If it's too hot I think a swim might be in order...hmmm, note to self, remember to take swimmers to Steve's house in the morning.
That bring me to Sunday when I have to take Liz to ice skating (be at macquarie by 6:45 at the latest), then off to church (starts at 9:30, well it's supposed to anyway), then back to my house to wash my black cat mouse and shave my white cat simba. At 2:30 I have a short meeting and then I'm going to Tepanyaki (Japanese restaurant where they cook your food in front of you and sometimes even throw it at you - don't wear good clothes) for a birthday dinner.
So it shall be busy but nice.
Oh...only 10 hours until I see Human Nature!!!! 3月3日 Breakfast........ SagaSo since there was demand.... This morning I ate raisin toast for breakfast. It's not asgood as cinnemon swirl which is divine, or even the chocolate swirl *drool* but it was still quite satisfying. Now when I say satisfying, I mean that it was tasty...however I have also discovered, that unlike with other breakfast type foods, I was not needing to snack at 9am...Now it's not that I NEED to snack at 9am, however by 9 I am feeling hungry again...Today I didn't feel hungry until 11:30...so obviously the combination of fruit and bread is good... That makes me tempted to try banana on toast....oh that sounds sooo good... if it weren't for this tasty roast sitting beside me waiting for me to eat it, I'd go into more details... :D |
